Latinas on the Rise is run solely by volunteers.
You can help in important ways.
Be a mentor
If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill out this
form. If you know someone who would make a great mentor,
send them a link to this website. We have participants with
interests ranging from medicine to law to graphic design to
journalism. We need mentors in all areas. Each semester, we
have about 10 participants in the program. While we might
not have a match for you this semester, we will definitely
keep your contact information for future semesters.
We ask mentors to meet with their participants a minimum of
three times per semester. Meetings are scheduled between the
two of you. We ask that mentors be willing to share honest
information about what it is like to be a Latina in their
profession, salary levels, time commitments, etc. We act as
your support and try to help guide the mentorship process
while allowing you to develop a relationship on your own terms.
The only scheduled event that we ask mentors to attend is
the closing dinner. The dinner is a chance for you to say
goodbye to your participant and our way of thanking you for
your time.
Make a donation
Latinas on the Rise has successfully obtained its 501(c)3
status. We have big plans to expand our program to more college
and high school students in the near future. If you would
like to make a donation to help us expand our program, click
here for information on this.
